ES CONTROL
according to machinery directive 98/37/EC
This is a simple two-hand safety control and the only operating mode
that it allows is two-hand operation. This
means that the press only moves downwards as long as both two-hand
switches are pushed simultaneously (0.5 sec.). As soon as one of the
twohand switches is released, the press immediately moves upwards again.
The control is operational immediately after connecting to the operating
voltage (110 - 230 V AC) and the air supply (6 bar).

ZS-CONTROL
according to machinery directive 98/37/EC
Based on a safety plc, it adds the following functions to the ES
control:
a) Setup operation:
If the two-hand switches are pushed simultaneously (0.5 sec), the press
will move downwards. The press will stop
at the bottom dead center and stay there until the two-hand switches are
pushed again.
b) Two-hand operation with hold time:
If the two-hand switches are pushed simultaneously (0.5 sec),
the press will move downwards. The two-hand switches can be released
after the bottom dead center has been reached. The press will stay there
until the adjustable hold time has elapsed, and then move upwards
automatically. A sensor for “tool closed” according to EN 13736 is
supplied. It has to be mounted by the customer in a way that it is
activated when the tool is closed. The sensor is monitored dynamically.
c) Piece counter
Each press stroke is counted, the counter can be equipped with or
without resetting facility. For usage with a closed tool, the control is
also available with a footswitch instead of the twohand operation
panel. The measuring system MS00 can be integrated directly into the ZS
control box.

SEM-CONTROL
according to machinery directive 98/37/EC
It has four more operation modes in addition to the ZS control, plus
an integrated plc.
d) Footswitch-controlled single operating mode
A footswitch, connectable to the control unit, triggers the press stroke.
If this footswitch is released before the
bottom dead center is reached, the ram will immediately return to its
home position. The footswitch plug-in connection can also be used for
tool contact control devices or for crosssystem control triggering via
potentialfree contacts. In all operation modes, a hold time comes into
effect at the dead center. It can range from 0 sec to 10 h and is freely
adjustable via a potentiometer in the control device. The hold time
guarantees equal forming of the workpieces, irrespective
of the triggering period of the control elements. It also allows working
with hot embossing tools.
e) Footswitch-controlled
e) continuous operating mode
By means of a continuous operation of the footswitch, the press works in
continuous mode until the footswitch
is released again.
f) Continuous automatic stroke mode
The ram is moved into the bottom dead center by simultaneous operation
of the two-hand switches. After that, the automatic cycle takes over
control until it is interrupted via the “Automatic OFF“ switch or due to
the counter reading being reached. The ram will stand still after
returning to its home position.
g) Rotary table single cycle operating mode
A rotary table is connected, and a press stroke is triggered via
footswitch, like in d). After completion of
the press stroke, the rotary table moves on by one position and stays
there until a new press stroke is
triggered via footswitch.
h) Rotary table continuous cycle mode
A rotary table is connected, and a press stroke is triggered via the
simultaneous operation of the twohand
switches, like in f). As soon as the bottom dead center is reached, the
automatic cycle takes over. Between every press stroke, the rotary table
moves on by one position, until the automatic cycle is turned off by
pressing the “OFF” switch or due to the counter reading being reached.
To load the rotary table, a hold time of 0 sec to 10 h can be set and
freely adjusted between the press stroke and the rotary table cycle. In
all operation modes, a hold time comes into effect at the bottom dead
center. It can range from 0 sec to 10 h and is freely adjustable via a
potentiometer in the control device. The hold time guarantees equal
forming of the workpieces, irrespective of the triggering period of the
control elements. It also allows working with hot embossing tools. The
control has a 6-digit preselection counter, which interrupts the
automatic cycle after the set quantity has been reached.
